Sewing classes designed to build confidence and skill.

We have classes and workshops for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced. Our teachers are professionals who are exceptionally skilled in their fields and ready to help you advance in the world of sewing.

Our monthly classes are held once a week for 2 hours, which gives you time to absorb the new skills and apply it with our teachers’ guidance. Students who book a monthly class will also receive access to our open studio during staffed hours: Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm and Saturdays 10-2pm.

Classes run with a minimum of 5 sign-ups. Our classes and studio are 18+.

Beginner Sewing

A sewing class to help you start from scratch! Bring your own machine from home or use one of ours. We start from the beginning of understanding and threading your machine, and walk through the foundations of sewing through projects like scrunchies, tote bags and elastic-waist pants while learning how to select appropriate fabrics, read commercial patterns and all necessary sewing terminology.

Intermediate
Sewing

Our Intermediate Sewing class is designed for students ready to expand their garment construction skills through the creation of a classic button-up shirt. Over four weeks, you will learn intermediate techniques including pattern cutting and preparation, interfacing application, sleeve setting, cuff construction, collar attachment, plackets, and buttonholes.

This course focuses on precision sewing, professional finishing methods, and building confidence with more advanced apparel projects. Students should already feel comfortable operating a sewing machine and basic sewing terminology. Throughout the class, instructors provide hands-on guidance in a supportive studio environment.

By the end of the course, each student will complete a polished, wearable shirt while gaining skills that translate to future garment-making projects. This class is ideal for sewists looking to move beyond beginner projects and strengthen their apparel construction techniques.

Guided Projects

Ready to tackle a sewing project with expert support? This class is perfect for sewists who are comfortable using a sewing machine but want guidance reading patterns, troubleshooting techniques, and completing garments with confidence.

Bring your own pattern and fabric, and work at your own pace while receiving personalized instruction in a small-group setting. With a maximum of five students, you'll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions, overcome challenges, and learn alongside fellow makers. Use our machines and tools or bring your own. Finish one project early? Start another!

Garment Cloning

Our Garment Cloning class teaches you how to recreate a favorite piece from your wardrobe by turning an existing garment into a reusable sewing pattern! Over four weeks, you will learn the fundamentals of pattern tracing, garment analysis, fabric selection, and construction techniques while carefully deconstructing and replicating the fit and details of the chosen piece.

With guidance from instructors, students will draft pattern pieces directly from their garment, cut new fabric, and sew a custom version from start to finish. This course is ideal for students who want to better understand how clothing is made while building confidence in patternmaking and garment construction.

Participants should have basic sewing machine experience and familiarity with simple garment assembly. By the end of the class, students will leave with both a finished recreated garment and a custom pattern they can use again in the future.

Intro to Patternmaking

This is an introductory class to the foundations of flat patternmaking. Patternmaking is the process of translating two-dimensional sketches or ideas into precise templates to be cut and sewn to fit a three-dimensional form.

In this class you will learn the fundamentals of measuring and drafting basic shapes to create blocks which will form a standard bodice and skirt. Tools will be provided in the space, as well as muslin and pattern paper. However, if you’d like to purchase your own rulers and tools, a link to purchase will be provided prior to the first day of class.
